Wow…

Just go read this link. It’s interesting to see many of the unanswered questions about 911 summed up nicely. To be fair, it’s just a press release so anything can be said, but still interesting all the same. Also note it’s from a noted conspiracy group, so take anything you read there with a large grain of salt.

Link about 911 questions and more.

Update: The promised followup to the press release.
Again, these guys are conspiracy nuts and they make a lot of “factual statements” without backing them up… Yet, they cover a lot of the unanswered questions about the WTC buildings and the surrounding crap.

Bush knew! And nothing will change.

Bush fucking knew. Video tape of him being briefed of exactly what happened. Later he made this quote.:

“I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees. They did appreciate a serious storm but these levees got breached and as a result much of New Orleans is flooded and now we’re having to deal with it and will.”

Will this change a damn thing? Probably not. The Republicans will spin it, the Democrats will say “look, we’re better than that!” and everyone else will ignore it. Which will ignore the real problem. Our government let people die when it knew they had a damn fine chance of doing so. They let people drown, live in a hell hole and crime run rampant.

Welcome to America!

Game hype video that doesn’t mention it’s not an actual gameplay is a sin.

Why is it a sin? Because you’re distancing a fair portion of your market (the people who can tell the difference between a cut scene and game play). See this Superman Returns video. The game itself (from previews) sounds interesting, but that video did nothing for me. Why? Because it’s not the game. It’s a nifty video made up by the developers/artists. That doesn’t help me decide to be interested or not interested in the game at all. It just helps me decide said company thinks I’m stupid.

What’s a better way to do that? Say it’s a cut scene (or scripted in the engine)! Be honest. Try it, it’ll be something nice and different for you. Maybe this just requires you to ask the preview site to do that, or to explain it to them.

Oh, and you gaming sites that post the video with publisher comments only or as is from the publisher…you need a smack. You’re supposed to be on our side, at least make an attempt at doing so.

The award for worst offender of this goes to the CoD2 commercial. I heard comments on that when it was played locally from non gamers about how cool the game looked…that’s accidentally misleading at the best and I don’t think the best about it.
