It’s not anything I was wishing I could know, but now that I can see them, I’m pretty interested. Things like average hours played to completion, etc are all interesting to me. I bet you many other developers wish they had that kind of information about their products in the wild.
This is pretty interesting. The brain gives us a fix when we figure things out… And people say the brain is this big complex mechanism we'll never understand fully. Bah, it's just the rat + cheese + maze theory all in a meaty casing. Very cool.
You might have noticed I don't post much about the Iraq war or politics or the like. You know why? Because I'm so fucking angry about the United States current place in the world, our pretend standards, or our only for them policies and don't even get me started on our Administration. I've never seen anyone seen in the white house be so bold about their lying. At least the last administration gave us the courtesy of a kiss before they bent us over the barrel.
So I don't post much about the war in Iraq, I don't post about my love affair with John Stewart (don't tell my wife!) and I don't post about the other sites I read to keep up with daily events…such as DemocracyNow.org or alternativeradio.org (I just wish they were cheaper) or my local radio station, WMNF. I don't post about the books I read, about the things I read, about how fucked up things are and I don't often mention how stupid the war in Iraq is.
Today I'm going to… A simple animation written by one Ava Lowery made me want to share it. It's brutal, sickening and horrible. And definitely not work safe. But it drives home a really good point. WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING IN IRAQ! I mean, beyond killing tens of thousands of innocents.
Don't get me wrong, we're way past the point of pulling out and everything being all right there. WAY past that point. But why did we go there in the first place? We knew WMD's didn't exist, we knew there was no link between Osama and Saddam and if our o so wonderful leaders had any clue we'd have known it wasn't going to be a simple in and out war.
