According this post on Kotaku, CoH is finally going to add the rest of the normal MMO features into their game…
The most compelling features included in the update are the introduction of the invention system and player auction houses to the game, adding a new layer of depth to the game that players (like me) have been clamoring for since launch.
Too little, too late, mother fuckers. Hmmm…maybe I’m angrier at them than I realized. Those bastards created a super hero game without any of the cool superhero stuff (changing costumes, upgradable equipment, inventories, etc). It was just a hack and slash for a VERY long time…imho.
And they added crafting:
Players will be able to visit universities and learn how to craft new costume pieces, gadgets (like the amazingly cool wings), and enhancements far more powerful that those old, non-crafted relics you’ve been running around in. Through a series of missions you will learn the simple process, which is as easy as gathering materials, finding a crafting station and pushing a button.

It’s too late. I’m not going to sign back up to your quest lacking game for some of the cooler things you’re adding now. Sorry bub, you lost me. I really, really wanted to like you back in the day. So much I even tried you again when you upgraded with City of Villians. That too was a trick.
You’ve tricked me in the past. I thought I could play a superhero. But all I got to play was yet another MMO with most of it missing. You can’t win me back, CoX. We’re done!
