Private equity-backed film financier Legendary Pictures is in negotiations to acquire Epic Games, the North Carolina-based developer of videogames including "Gears of War."
Multiple sources close to the companies confirmed that talks are under way, though execs at both Legendary and Epic declined to comment.
No idea if it will actually go through, but it makes wonder if money isn’t a bit crunched around those parts after UT3 was a bust. A bit meaning they can’t afford million dollar salaries for the execs for much longer, of course. I wonder if that has anything to do with their wanting to shoe horn in on the used game market.
What Would Matt Do: Well, first I’d blame UT3′s lacking in the sales department on pirates. Then I’d blame the secondary market for stealing money from my children and punish the consumer for it. Then I’d…well, I don’t think I’d do any of those things actually.
