Eidos…they’ve got big balls.

Yeah, they actually said this:

Gamespot UK journalist Guy Cocker revealed the tactic in a Twitter post on Wednesday that said: “call from Eidos–if you’re planning on reviewing Tomb Raider Underworld at less than an 8.0, we need you to hold your review till Monday.”

Said a Barrington Harvey rep on the phone this afternoon: “That’s right. We’re trying to manage the review scores at the request of Eidos.”

The best part? That they can’t it’s all cool and kosher. Like they can just do these sorts of things and no one will blink an eye or wonder, what the fuck are these guys thinking. I’ll give them this, it’s horribly ballsy. And kudos to GamespotUK. If they hadn’t said something, we might not have known Eidos was continuing their fucked up PR ways. They did attempt damage control, but those fancy words fly completely in the face of their actions. You know, like any well paid PR firm.

I’d like to offer a suggestion to them if they really want better review scores. Make a better game. Jackoffs.

What Would Matt Do: It’s not like I was planning on even trying the new Tomb Raider…maybe I can show my outrage by convincing someone I know not to buy it. But, since I don’t even know anyone that was going to buy it…maybe I’ll just call them retarded goat monkey assholes. Yeah, that feel about right.
